Sonia is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario since 2009, being a licensed paralegal, and has had wide array of background experience in the immigration field both in private firms and as part of in-house team for large international companies. Sonia has an immense knowledge in every area of immigration with specific focus on corporate mobility. She has facilitated large number of corporations in transferring their senior executives, specialized knowledge workers, and business visitors to Canada on temporary resident permits.

Outside of the office hours, Sonia spends majority of her time with her two kids, enjoys outdoor activities and plays music.

Alex Koch provides corporate and intellectual property advice to individuals, start-ups and small to medium-sized businesses. Alex helps simplify the legal aspects of entrepreneurship for her start-up and business clients across a wide array of industries such as health and wellness, food and beverage, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, pet care, retail and tech (including fintech, green tech, cleantech and mobility tech). Alex’s business law practice focuses on helping clients with their ongoing operational legal needs as well as assisting them in corporate transactions. She frequently advises entrepreneurs and businesses at various stages from start-ups to growing businesses.  Alex regularly advises clients on intellectual property matters and helps her clients acquire, license, commercialize and protect their intellectual property rights as well as comply with their privacy and anti-spam obligations.

Samuel Richards Baker, Q.C. was educated at the University of Alberta, Canada, where he obtained BA and LLB Degrees, and Stanford University, where he earned a Master of Laws Degree in international law and was a Teaching Fellow. Sam is also a Fellow of the Patent and Trademark Institute of Canada. A Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) appointment recognizes lawyers of exceptional merit and contribution to the legal profession.

Sam Baker is a senior practitioner in the field of domestic and international business transactions. He began his professional career in corporate and oil and gas law with McLeod Dixon, now Norton Rose, then established with others the Canadian presence of global law firm Baker & McKenzie, where he was an international partner for 25 years.

Sam has been Canadian counsel to a host of multinational corporations and ventures from a multitude of jurisdictions such as: Federal Express, Mars, Amway, Raytheon, Milton Bradley (US); Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, Daifuku (Japan); Minmetals (China); Tech Mahindra, Synechron, Cybage (India); Embraer (Brazil); Canpotex (Canada).

Sam conducts a globally-oriented law practice in association with Vinay Sarin MBA, JD, the scope of which covers the entire field of business organization/transactions and the trans-border movement of investment and individuals.

His fields of practice include startup and employee transfers, corporate organization, acquisitions and mergers, joint ventures, infrastructure projects, regulatory compliance, technology transfers, contracts, trade-marks, licensing, tax planning, import/export, marketing, branding and distribution, real estate and immigration.

Sam is a frequent speaker and author of books and articles on foreign investment and joint ventures, international taxation, technology transfers and business in Canada.
